Bari FC was established in 2010 by Barry Capozzi and Mike Falco. The name of the team is derived from the Province in Italy where the history of the Capozzi and Falco families can be traced. The team is comprised of friends and family who have grown watching, playing, and loving the Beautiful Game - with the vast majority of the team having familial and cultural roots in Europe (Italy, Portugal, Greece, Ireland, Croatia), it is no surprise that the players on the Bari FC team, perhaps past their playing prime, are still excited each and every game to participate in a game that has defined each of their countries and lives in such a deep way (not to mention Italy having won the World Cup twice in our lifetime!).
In winter, Bari FC participates in the VMSL 3rd Division. In the inaugural season that just past, Bari FC finished 2nd last in the standings, but achieved much in the way of growth and knowledge in what it takes to play, compete, have fun, and ultimately, win.
In all, Bari FC's number one goal is to have fun, enjoy the company of friends, satisfy the competitiveness that still rages inside of old, wily bodies, and to, when all things are aligned, prove that the heart, mind and legs still got it!
Good luck to all the teams this Summer! Viva Bari!
